Gainsborough Mixed Martial Arts Academy is your closest mate.

A fresh new gym which has classes 7 days a week. MMA, Muay Thai, Ju Jitsu, Wrestling, Kids Self Defence, Womans class. All of the classes are at different levels.

Sorry to bump an old thread, I didnt want to start another one for the same topic.

I'm looking to start training in MAA and I'm in lincoln, but there doesnt seem to be much around (tried google...). I would like eventually get into amatuar comps, obviously when I'm ready.

I've heard of Impact Gym in Sleaford, but from their timetable it just looks like they only do kickboxing. I'm also slightly put off by the lack of advertised ground work. It's also rather expensive if someone wanted to do 2 sessions, 4 days a week.

There's also 7ks Chikara, which is a lot closer to me, but it only runs mon, tues, and thurs, for barely 2 hours on those nights. I'm looking for something a little... well more: mons - thurs, for 2 hours minimum kind of thing.

Reading back I realise this all sounds really "snobbish", I'm not slating anyone I'm just looking for somewhere that's right for me.

Anyone got any places they can recommend in the area? (notts is a little too far for me to go every night, otherwise I would go to bushido-mma as it's exactly what I'm looking for)

Your best bet is probably that Gainsborough place. There's also a Gracie Barra opened up in Peterborough but TBH if you wanna train you just gotta travel. It's what I did for a long time n a lot of people that train MMA probably end up at least travelling 45 mins each way cos it's not like there's an MMA gym on every corner like there is with Karate or TKD.

You would be made more than welcome at Gainsborough MMA mate. Cracking set of lads of up there and there is constant improvement to the facilities. Also you have a trainer who really wants you to do well and you can tell that by the amount of time and effort he puts into your training.

Gainsborough would be great as it's max 20 mins from where I live.

Dan do they have a website? If not have you got any details in regards to a training schedule (times and whats trained on what day, etc, usual sorta thing) and also membership prices? Any pics would be good as well
