    Default Boxing/Thai boxing in Birmingham

Does anyone know any good places to do these? Also what does everyone think about doing them together as lot of fighters in the ufc seem to have specific boxing coaches as well as thai coaches. I was thinking because of the smaller gloves do u think u need more focus on hands instead of in thai where u can use the big gloves to defend and set up kicks.

I can vouch for Bob, I haven't seen him for a number of years, but have judged a few shows with him and trained with him a few times.... he is also a funny fucker... I think he even did some stand up!

D-Tec, I've not seen Tony Moore for ages, with you saying you broke away from the BTBC... was he anti-MMA?

I know Tony was very traditionalist, however, he was a really open and pleasent guy so I would have thought he was open to the concept of MMA.

I started Thai Boxing with Bob Spour in 1991, he is an excellent Muay Thai instructor. Is he still in Selly Oak ! I set up the Birmingham Uni Muay Thai club which consisted of me, Bob Spour and Pete Ashford. As D-Tec says Bob is a very good instructor manages to break things down into a really simple easy to understand way but also has the ability to keep things very practical. He trained me for my one and only pro thai fight.

If you are able to travel in Brum, then the best place to go for Muay Thai is K-star Perry Barr where Damon Trainer is. His results as a fighter speak for them self.
