Dirt cheap, I know, but I gaffer taped handles on a 30kg 3ft punch bag years ago and it's still going strong mate, just keep some tape handy, gaffer tape "the fighters friend" lol

Alex gold (hardcoresportstraining) email instructions on making a sandbag a few months ago, worth checking his site or I can dig out the email for you

after you make a bag like in the link, what would you do with it? how would you incorporate it into a routine? and what kind of weight are they normally made up to. thanks.

The point of the sandbag above is that it is adjustable, so the weight you use is whatever weight you can handle.

I like doing complexes with them, and stuff like loading onto a platform, shouldering and walking with the bag overhead.

How you would incorporate it in a routine is an impossible question to answer.

for routines have a look here:
    http://www.rosstraining.com/

maybe buy a book off him

i have a couple, i'm a fairly strong and 80kg, and find a 35kg bag is about right for me

    here's a quick complex:

    6 sandbag burpees
    6 sandbag squat
    6 clean and press
    6 lunges (3 per side)
shoulder sandbag 6 times (3 per side)
    6 bent over rows
    10 burpees

rest a minute, repeat for rounds.
