    Scooting your hips in the guard is a skill that comes with time. There are many armbars from the guard, some of which don't need much hip movement so maybe your better off sticking with them early on.

    Hopefully soon we can get some techniques on our site showing armbars, there are only a few at the moment.

    You should also use your opposite foot to push on the hip of your opponent, Frank Shamrock has some good drills on his instructional tape.

    PM OilinDaDrum as he has this video and may lend it to you.

    Neil is using the term "lend" very loosely, i think he actually means that i will sell you an illegal VCD copy of the seminar.
