digestion and metabolic losses = total calories –
[calories in faeces + calories in urine]
Total calories = calories obtained when food is
burned in bomb calorimeter = complete
combustion to CO2 and H2O
No idea of the context, I think it is about determing energy content in food, butit would appear that both poo and wee contain calories!!
