Which burns more total calories during interval training, swimming or running?
This will be done over the same period of time (15 mins) at the same intentsity (90% for 30 secs, 40% for 30 secs)
Just to settle an argument.
Cheers

I'm assuming you are comparing interval training with either swimming or running as the activity? Rather than comparing interval training with running a distance or swimming a distance.
Either way, Assuming you are running at 7.5 mph you will burn approx 1000 calories (dependant on weight etc) per hour, swimming at high intensity: Approx 800 per hour (again depending on numerous factors).
Using this Id say interval training with running would burn more calories.
running...
I thought so!

Swimming, in the spazzing out splashing style I use... I wouldn't last 15 minutes doing it though!
