yeah, custom's definately the way to go. BUT, if you are going to 'design' something yourself, be prepared for any decent tattooist to say it needs changing, if it can be done at all. The thing to remember when you've drawn something up yourself is that, no matter how good an artist you might think you are, you're not (in most cases) a tattoo artist, and something that looks good on paper might not look good on your body. Every part of your body has its own shape and contours, and alot of people don't understand this when they're desiging their own tattoo.
If you draw your own thing and a tattooists says it's not workable, or it's just shit, don't get pissed off but listen to what they're saying. If you're at a decent studio they'll be doing it not because they're lazy but becasue they're artists and won't want to do anything that will end up not looking good.

Totally agree with the above... IF the tattoo artist is good! Some will just do whatever you ask for, or the designs they come up with will be shit anyway.

Although I said I drew mine myself, that was a quick response... some parts were done exactly as I drew but a lot of it was just used as ideas and my tattooist did it freehand, changing shapes to contour to my arm. Some stuff he disagreed on and changed, some stuff he disagreed on but then accepted would work once it was drawn on my arm.

I think a lot of people (the tattooee) forget placement of tattoos and how they work with body shape and movement. Placement is, imo, the most important aspect to whether it will look good.

i agree we got a picture of a cock tattooed to my mates ass when we were in prague for a bet to pay for his kitty money.

our drawing was too small and had no colour, a good tattoo artist wouldv not did exactly like our drawing on the back of a pub napkin

Had first 2 hours of a cover Im getting done, outline and a bit of shading, going back on the 19th, but havnt trained all week inase I rip off scabs, Ive done everything right , using BEPANTHEN and cling film, so not really scabby, but how long would you wait till you train? Or should I just give it a week til scabs drop off?

If it has bled you have to wait till it heals and the scabs have come off naturally
