Meta Analysis from the BMJ.

having had acupuncture for injuries I can say it 100% does work , BMJ wants everyone taking drugs , thats what the BMJ wants.
I kep reading about Colonic Irrigation not being beneficial but i kno how much better it makes me. If it feels good do it!
the BMJ are a bunch of crooks whose job it is to push adhd drugs down 3 year olds throats , absolute bunch of scum.
And it's your job to sell shit that doesn't work to people based on debunked pseudo-science and anecdotal evidence.
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Bwaaahaaahaaa.
Funny to hear that coming from DetoxGuru!
Acupunture didn't work for me when I had shoulder problems. But, I know that it has worked well for people with peripheral neuropathic pain.
There's also dry needling which is similar I think.
IMO I think it depends on the type of pain & your expectations as to the results you get.
I'm interested in learning this though to use as an additional treatment in private podiatry.
The BMJ does indeed have a huge agenda of it's own though. If Boxing Monthly writes an expose on the dangers of MMA, I'm not likely to pay much attention to it.
Anyone else remember the 'study' that the British Medical Association did on the dangers of MMA?![]()
A girl I went out with at uni, who's now a surgeon, studied acupuncture as part of the complimentary medicine module she took in her 3rd year (Liverpool Medical School is very progressive) and still uses bits she learned to this day. Not in surgical procedures I hasten to add!
Something acupuncture is very good for is relaxing extremely tight musculature - if your periformis has spasmed due too much driving and playing rubber guard, you can either have a physio turn you face down and lean their bodyweight on their elbow into your arse... or have an ultrafine needle puncture said muscle painlessly for instant relaxation. Not a cure for the problem, but a welcome release from pain.
Acupuncture is also used in dental clinics that specialise in extremely tense and nervous patients.

Accupuncture is used on animals with good results, especially racehorses which seems to rule out a placebo effect in thoses cases.
I've had it in the past & it worked for me.
It's funny how people like scamguru are always harping on about the BMJ/"Big Pharma"/Glaxo etc being evil, blah blah...
What the fuck does that have to do with their being NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER to support the claims of the various pseudoscience and "alternative" (i.e. doesn't work beyond placebo effect) medicine.
How do big pharmas stop people doing research? With the amount of money the alt-medicine companies make (con people out of) they could easily fund a study.
