Caged Steel "Young Guns" Interclub - May 17th

We are in the process of putting together an amatuer MMA interclub within our gym for 14 - 17 year olds. Caged Steel "Young Guns"

I am just working on the paperwork etc, which will be ready within the next week or so. At this stage I am posting this just to raise awareness and for people to put the date in their diaries.

The interclub will be as it says, for young MMA talent to test themselves and showcase their skills. We will be grouping the 14 & 15 year olds together with no headshots rules and the 16 & 17 year olds together with headshots standing only rules, with sparring gloves.

We are hoping if we get enough applicants and weight catagories to make the no-headshots group a tournament format and the headshots group just single matches only.

At this stage we cannot gaurantee a tournamnet, it does depend on how many entries we get. If there are not enough entries for this, then all fights will be single fights either pre arranged or if neccassery matched on the day

I am sure there will be many questions, all of which will be answered in the email package I will send out to interested parties when ready.

As mentioned this post is an awareness message about the event just to gauge initial reaction and get an idea of interest.

This will be a great opportunity for the "Young Guns" to show themselves off and for promoters to see the UK's MMA stars of the future

We are just about ready to post up the poster and contact info etc for the event. Should be up in the next few days, hope to see all the young mma fighters apply for the event.

We have decided not to make this one a tournament but single matches up to a maximum of 2 fights per fighter on the day. All this will be explained in the info pack

If we get a good response to this 1st event then we will consider making it a tournament held every 3 months approx with a title event every 12 months

We hope you will support this idea, I think the young developing mma talent need somewhere to be seen, other than the occasional junior match on a show. Entrants will be allowed to video their fights, this will help with promoters etc for the bigger shows they will unboubtedly be aiming at in the future
