Default Bang to the head and death

In light of what happened to actress natasha richardson and her losing her life after a bang to the head that didn't result in unconciousness does that show the real danger of MMA? Apparently she felt fine right after but then felt some side affects after an hour or so.

A doctor speaking on the subject said that even a mild bang to the head can cause the brain to start bleeding and if not caught within hours can result in death and even if caught most likely will result in death, scary! Any thoughts??

Would wait until confirmation of the cause of death, she could have had an unknown pre-existing condition that was triggered by the fall

That's what i thought originally but the doctors are saying it can happen pre existing condition or not, they mention that your brain hitting the side of your head can cause damage resulting in bleeding.

lol, I'm sure there are better things to look at to judge the risk... boxing, maybe, just maybe?

My mate died from a blood clot due to taking one kick to the head during kickboxing sparring.

Shit happens, basically. Humans are pretty tough, we can take a pretty severe beating and recover with no long-lasting effects, but sometimes you get unluckly.
