Mixed Martial Arts is growing in popularity by leaps in bounds in England, and nothing is more obvious after the UFC decided to feature the European country in the next Season of The Ultimate Fighter as it pits English fighters against US Fighters in a lead-up to a headlining fight between top England fighter Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson.
But is that just the tip of the iceberg in the UFC’s invasion of Europe? They certainly hope so as they bring UFC: 99 to Germany in June, and in doing so, have given German fighter Peter Sobotta a rare chance to debut in front of a growing legion of MMA fans in his own country.
“The UFC is coming to Germany. This is crazy and I hope that all German fans will cross their fingers for both Dennis Siver and myself and will cheer for us on top of their lungs,” says Sobotta of his hometown debut with the largest MMA promotion in the world. “With a couple thousand spectators behind us, I’m sure we’ll have much more gas in the tank.”
