The Abslolutes in both the 'No Gi' Groundfighting and 'With Gi' Grappling Events are starting to stack up.

We have decided to extend the Divison for the Absolutes at both Events to a maximum of 32 Fighters because of the entries coming in to date.

Once we have reached that target, then we will not be accepting any further entries for the Absulotes, which is a Free Category for Registered Fighters only.

So if you are Competing, and are planing on entering any of the Free Absolutee Categories on any of the two Events, then don't leave it to late, as its on a Frist Registered, First Served Basis etc...

    Good luck.

A lot of hard work went in to the weekend to ensure it ran as smooth as possible and on both days we were finished well before 3pm!

I enjoyed refereeing every single match, every fighter displayed great sportsmanship and control over their submissions and took the decisions win or lose in their stride, everyone a credit to their respective clubs.

In addition, I had a few guys come over and shake my hand thanking me for reffing their fights, something that doesn't happen all too often

MMA legend Lee Hasdell took to the mats on the no gi day and showed he's still got it by taking Gold in the Masters event, well done Lee still flying the flag mate!

On behalf of Jim and the rest of the UMA officials who assisted on the day and myself as Chief Officer, we would like to thank all of you who supported the event on both days, you are all a credit to your clubs and to the sport in general and we look forward to seeing you at future UMA events in 2009.
