Outrage at my office vedning machine

Is anyone else pissed off at the new trend to put vending machines in that dont give change? It wasn't too bad to start with because everything was 50p so if you only had a £1 coin left in change, you could at least buy 2 items and save one for another day.

Now they have put the price up to 55p which means if you only have £1, you either leave 45p in the machine for the next lucky bastard if he has a 10p piece within 5 minutes of your visit or it wipes the credit off.

I've now been sitting here in an empty office for an hour now because most people have buggered off early for the weekend and I either pay £1 for a bar of chocolate or I have to sit here for the rest of the afternoon wanting chocolate and not giving in to the man.

It wasnt a planned chocolate craving.......but thanks. That would be sensible male logic.

I have that stupid female mentality which is if you dont plan to buy chocolate with the right money then I wont eat it. So I go shopping for lunch today and dont buy chocolate because I'm getting back into training and trying to cut a little extra weight.

Then I sit there glaring at the chocolate machine because I now want chocolate and only have £1.

I'm considering taking a screwdriver to it at the moment......or a really big hammer.

They have an 'honesty box' at my work - there's a fridge with food in and you take what you want and put the money in the box.

At least there used to be - it was open at one point so you could take your own change, but unsurprisingly they found the sum of cash in the box was massively less than what it should have been. Now there's just a slot on the top to put money in but you can't get change.

My solution has been to bring a bag into work that I leave in my locker with all the 5ps and coppers that I'm not going to do anything with (apart from eventually chuck into that 'coinstar' robot machine in Asda) and use them to ensure that I always have the correct change for my pint of milk. Though the owners probably hate me.

I remeber when they installed vending machines in my old school, it took about 2 days before they were bolted to the floor.
