If you want to put on weight/muscle, just eat a lot and rest as much as possible. Rest = doing nothing at all, lie down and play xbox, sleep etc...

Good stuff to eat is; lean meat, veg, fruit, fish, wholemeal pasta/rice/bread. Eat a lot.

I find soaking in a hot bath or having a sauna after a workout decreases DOMS for me.

Hmm looks good, i'll stock up on those packet pasta + rice, which are so easy to cook and taste so nice.

Are steak pies ect.. good for snacks?

Will be home next sat, joining gym Monday, I just hope it isnt packed out, with no spare equipment haha.

Steak pies aren't exactly brilliant (high fat content), but if you're just looking to put weight on then yeah, go for it. They taste nice

Scooby is a great bodybuilder with some good ideas and information (especially, if I remember right, cause he works out purely at home) but he's a bodybuilder; and the advanced routine set out is unnecessary and, to be frank, OTT for strength building for our sport; if you did that weight program and trained to a high degree in the sport too; you'd end up knackered and possibly injured.

Keep up with the exercises you are comfortable with - ie bench and biceps. Add more weight and consume 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Plenty of steak and chicken. Cut back on the carbs or you'll put on fat

How about asking at the gym you're joining.

Theres a few decent instructors in eston gym that will look after you.

Failing that follow the advice you have been given 50,000 times on your 8 threads
