yes, an easy read, are all US MMA and Boxing commissions governmental ?

It seems they have the clout to create laws and acts that are enforceable by the state.

Yeah it is pretty much that way, some native American Reservations regulate events on their land too, as they have some degree of semi autonomous power on events in their own land

Blame/thank the 10th amendment for that

Got a reply from the CCPR (CCPR is the national alliance of governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation.)

They gave me a brief explanation of what they would look for in an associate body and gave me a link to some useful resources on their website... becoming associated with CCPR could be a good starting point for gaining recognition IMO.
