The comment is accurate though. Its hardly anti-ufc to just be realistic is it?

    I don't think it's accurate.

    Something along the lines of...

"A fight with Brock Lesnar would be the biggest fight in MMA history"

    That's accurate.

    Interesting article here

Fedor signing with Strikeforce is a complex issue not because of the deal itself, but because of the underlying implications it may or may not have for the MMA community as a whole. Thus, we’ll take a look at the signing from the viewpoint of the many different stakeholders in this situation.

Irony: calling me racist then telling me I'm from the wrong side and that all the little slopey eyes look the same.

very good Mainsy, I didn't think you lot had a sense of humour.

The article was not about what was a bigger fight, it was about how many competitors each organization has. That sentence would be completely irrelevant to the article.

Anyway it's not accurate. A more accurate statement would be "A fight between Kimbo Slice and Brock Lesnar would be the biggest fight in MMA history."

We have seen the selling power of Kimbo and the internet, Fedor has yet to prove that he can draw in US fans.

Now, if you said most important fight in MMA history, or most significant fight in MMA history, from the point of view of hardcore (I hate that word) fans of the sport, then you're closer to accurate. But Josh Barnett would be a more credible opponent anyway as he has a better proven record.

What has Overeem done to be considered a top 5 HW?

Rogers? Who knows, he could be great, but he could be a HW Houston ALexander/Drew Mcfedries.

Werdum? 2-2 in the UFC where he wasn't really impressive and a pretty easy match up for Fedor.

    Monson? Ugh.

Also, with the non-exclusive nature of these guy's contracts, there's no guarantee that these match-ups will happen anyway. I mean Overeem's last 3fights have not been in Strikeforce.

I'm pretty sure Fedor has talked about mma being purely a job for him, not an honour thing that he would do for free. I just don't see who benefits from this deal.
