You need a convertor to take the VOB format and convert it to mPeg or AVI.

Maybe you should stick to punching people and get an clever mate to do the techy stuff for you?

If you are on a Mac then Mac The Ripper is free and available. You can rip anything, even encrypted stuff. I then use DVD2onex2 (free) to burn etc.

no im not mate just a regular laptop i just want to rip a chapter off a dvd then put it on facebook..... and yes redmist this stuff hurts my head much more than being punched.... and is far less enjoyable than punching people!

download DVD Shrink from here: http://download.cnet.com/DVD-Shrink/...html?tag=mncol then install.

download AutoGK from here: http://www.autogk.me.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads and install.

open dvd in dvdshrink, click "re-author", select desired chapter/scene/whatever then select "backup" and choose Hard Disk folder and select a location, click go or whatever it says.

wait until finished, then open AutoGK, select video files, select video size ansd click go.

how long is the video? i normally work it out like this:

a dvdrip is 700mb at on average 90 mins, 700 divided by 90 = 7.777777777, i would round it up to 8 for the sake of time differances.

multiply the length of the clip in minutes by 8 and remember the answer.

step 1 - after ripping the scene from the disk, open AutoGK and at the top, click the browse icon by "input file" and select your ripped dvd.

step 2 - just below that click the browse icon by "ouput file" and select your desktop or other convenient place and call it something original.

step 3 - middle left, under "select output size" click custom and nter the figure you worked out using the above maths!

step 4 - click "add job" then "GO"
