Good game for trying knife defence.

Get your training partner, both wear white (stuff you don't mind getting ruined). Instead of a knife, us a black marker. get him to attack you and see how you do. Remember every black mark is a cut from a knife.

I'll be suprised if you defend that well. Someone pulls a knife, turn and run

It may be worth watching some Krav Maga videos, they have some good techniques for disarming weapons.

    Exactly.

The only time I wouldn't run away is if I had someone to defend.

I would assume that most of the times when people get stabbed, they didn't even know a knife was involved. Nearly all the times I have read reports of stab victims they say they thought they'd been punched then looked down and saw blood.
this has been my experience of knife attacks in clubs mate. spot on

I have done Martial Arts for well over 25 years and worked the doors, Knife work in class is great fun but every time someone tried to Knife,Botttle or hit me with something it was when I didnt see it coming because they didnt get me on guard because they were not being a dick until after they had done the deed. But If they say they going to do you - Hit Them - Then run away - then tell the Police you have a twin brother if you get picked up.

Good plan!! Where do I get one of those?? :P

When I got stabbed I didnt see the knife. I through a left hook and the guy had it hidden backward up his arm as he blocked it stuck in my forearm. When Ian got stabbed the second time he had no chance, the guy was waving it but his friend had a gun!! Which do you watch?? I tried to run them both over and we got away but Ian was bleeding heavy from the stomach wound.

Even when you see it it isnt easy to get away. We are used to blocking to protect most of the time and instinct takes over. When Ian got stabbed with a broken bottle my friend had already had his face opened up with it, the guy lunged again and Ian used his arm to block my friends neck/face. You can know its coming but if you havent trained for every specific circumstance (which I believe is impossible) you will fuck up. If you dont its just luck!!

Why is it bs? what makes you the expert?
