I believe he is a fairly decent Judoka so that may explain the base in the clinch. How is your leg? You took alot of heavy kicks to the lead leg.

Well it wasn't as bad as one fight at the last show where the guy weighed in 11kg overweight, lol!! Some people just truly take the piss.

Then the night before the fight my coach gets a call from the promoter saying my opponent doesnt want to do semi-pro, he wants to do amature. obviously i was annoyed but because ive spent the last 5 weeks training, cutting weight and had quite a few people who'd bought tickets i decided to go ahead anyway. as you can imagine my technique was right out the window as my strongest attributes are boxing and ground game, my kicking aint great but the other 2 make up for it.

When it comes to fight day I weighed in at 83kgs, couldnt see my opponent at the weigh in! didnt see my opponent all night till i got in the cage. Straight away me and everyone else could see this guy wasnt 83kgs, more like 93kgs if not more!! i couldnt even lift the guy in the cage for a take down and because I couldnt use the head shots id been training with (difficult to set up a take down with only body shots if you aint been training for it) i ended up loosing on points.

After the fight my corner asked to see the weigh in card for the guy, and strangely enough they had misplaced it! 30 fighters and the one card they lose was his!

Fair enough I lost on points, I wouldnt mind if it was a fair fight though!

the bout was Lee Parnell v Steven Beames (AMT)

    Cheers Lee
    Hi Lee

I think you need to call your coach and get the right facts please.
Your coach has already said sorry for what you have written on CW and wants it take down off the Fourm, if Ian Dean can do it ???

I did (Stuart Chase) Steves weight in sheet. Just could not find it with all the other paper work i had right away, when asked to see it by your corner . But found it 5mins later. Then showed them.

Steve is an 43 year old man who won fair and square and was not 93kg...........

Steve and East Coast Fight Factory would like you to say sorry and take back what you have said.

Yeah, very attractive girl. Probably one of the very few women I'd actually get married to and lose all my money to her. As long a sI got a few shags, it's all rock n roll! (sorry Stu)

Yeah TBH the fct there wasnt another bar was a good thing cos people would have only gotten pissed up even more and gotten lairy (as we all do after a couple of sherberts).

    i saw this fight!

actually i just happened to walk through the wrong door as this man was weighing in and remember thinking to myself 'god hes too old to fight' and 'if he gets someone whos much younger, the old man would have no chance'

so i made a point of watching the fight, good fight too, amt rules so no head shots, and straight away i could see the old man had been training specificaly for AMT rules, no head shots so why keep your hands up, surely no need for hands up as no strikes to face allowed so might as well use them to defend takedowns, to my surprise the old man pushed forward all fight throwing nasty low round kicks to the young mans legs, and remember thinking to myself that the younger man did not like this very much especially as the young mans punches did not seem to faze the old man, couple of takedown attempts were countered by simple underhooks and remember thinking 'if he cant be taken down one way then he needs to be able to change his game'

just out of interest, i just looked back at the fight card posted on here dated 16-9-09 and see that this fight was down as lee parnell v steven beames AMT 1x5 min round
wise man say..... play by the rules and learn to lose gracefully !
