I would get a decent security system, make sure my insurance is up to scratch & keep the pooch in my house

If I had to pick a guard dog though, I would go Doberman or Rottie.

just a quick question, have you trained any dogs for guarding/pp/sentry work? have you kept bullbreeds before? if you havent, think before you get one. both breeds you have mentioned have no natural guarding instinct in them, you have to work it out of them by converting their prey drive into a defensive drive. to get a decent AB in this country is hard enough and any decent breeder will want to check you out and see you know about dogs. Any good pitbull breeder.. well you wont know and they wouldnt sell to you as it aint a pp/guard dog, the ones that do sell to you just breed crap.

Whatever dog you get dont expect them to guard straightaway, without training them, it aint easy, if you dont do it properly and you have an aggressive dog you basically have a unpredictable problem.

i pave a presa canario, he's a beast but i love him, awesome dog. he's a big softy really but he is naturally terratorial and goes off whenever someone walks past, you wouldnt break in if you saw him at the window, but if you did he isnt likely to do a whole lot. his dad however would eat a person, that was one dangerous dog, but he had been trained to be like that to protect a farm, so its how you bring them up. any of the molosser breeds have the presence you are after to be honest

Im not rushing and gonna pay an arm and a leg for training i just want a dog that will look "ard" and make a thief think twice.

Like i said too many junkies in the area when they high on crack they will rob any one for a fix and with 12 houses being broken into last month some one has to be at home the whole time now and people in the area dont feel safe walking around the street.

I had a golden coated staf but passed away a few years back but was a loverble dog.

We got way too many junkies and alot of houses are being broken into and last month this knob head tried breaking into my shop. Through the courtyard but the alarm went off and got kitched by the police down the road.

So i wana beef up the security with a mean dawg.

I'll jus teach it to bark and show its teeth save the aggro lol

Ive had Bull Terriers all my life as my dad loves them.

Beatiful dogs, great for families, violent fuckers with any bigger dogs though.
