Exclamation U.M.A. U.K. Open Team Grappling 'Challenge Cup' Championships Poll

Which do you Prefer: Combined Weight or Two Different Weight Categories.?

As most of you may know, The U.M.A. are Organising a Team Grappling Event/Championships here in the UK on Saturday 6th March 2010.

There are Two Events on the Day:
'With Gi' Grappling and 'No Gi' Grappling

There will be 3 Fighters in each Team.

There is no limit to how many Teams you can enter in both Events from your own Club or Group etc.

    There Will be the:
    'With Gi' Grappling Championship Trophy
    'No Gi' Grappling Championship Trophy

There will also be Gold, Silver and Joint Bronze Medals Awarded to all the Fighters in each Team for the Top 4 Teams in Both Events.

With the 'UMA Challenge Cup' going to the Team with the most Points from both Events on the Day

We thought the best way to to keep everyone happy was to put the questions and recommendations etc, to a Vote/Poll, and then the U.M.A. will go with the majority decision for the Team Grappling Championships in March 2010.

There are 4 Options available, please vote for what you feel would be the best way for the Teams either as a Combined Weight or 2 different Weights, there are two options for each, you vote for what you feel would be the best and suitable etc.

This Poll will be closed on 31st December.

You won't keep everyone happy jim but worth a go! Smaller weight limits are better in my opinion, although there are more big guys coming through the ranks now. I have found clubs tend to attract people of similar weights, eg if you've got a load of 16st guys training it'll put off a lot of 10st guys walking in for the first time, and the opposite is also true. A 16st guy won't be as happy squashing 10st guys all day long.

3 fighters combined weight of 140kg ? do you mean 240kg
Remember reading about this a while back and thought cool idea, I personally think an 'open weight' type tournament is most entertaining - as a team event it adds another element.

Hi, yep, its should read either 240kg or 250kg, sorry, its a typo, but we can't access the Poll to change it unfortunately, but hopefully most will know it is: 240kg and 250kg etc.

    Thanks for the spot.
