Default Well done to LSF students at 2009 UMA British Open 'No Gi' Grappling Championships

Leicester Shootfighters picked up 10 medals today at the 2009 UMA British Open 'No Gi' Grappling Championships. The event was very well attended by over 120 fighters from all around the country (and even some from abroad).

There were some fantastic performances from the team, too many to mention really, well done to all of them!

Here are the medal winners (as far as I and Chris remember):

Liam Corrigan - GOLD (Advanced u75kg)
Jacob Constantinou - BRONZE (Advanced u75kg)
Ben Harrison - BRONZE (Advanced u75kg)

Daniel Swan - GOLD (Advanced u65kg)

Jamie Molyneaux - GOLD (Novice u65kg)
Satyan Mehta - SILVER (Novice u65kg)
Kieren Lewin - BRONZE (Novice u65kg)

JD Hylton - GOLD (Novice u95kg)

Caz Tweedy - SILVER (Novice u65kg Mixed Sex)
Michael Panebianco - BRONZE (Novice u65kg Mixed Sex)

Christian Schaefer, Chris Neal, Baz Keshwala and Shivan Mehta may not have picked up medals this time but they did the club proud.

Videos, pics etc coming on our website soon.

Jacob Constantinou has been coming about 19 months so was in advance this time, he's only 19 years old too. Jamie Molyneaux about 14 months I think.

    Thanks for the compliments.

Well, she's very owl like, you gotta admit that. And I kept calling her Casper too as she's so pale. So, Ghost Owl kinda came up. Not sure if it was Jamie, me or Caz that said it first but it was so funny it stuck.

Even funnier when she found this site and started quoting it: http://www.ghostowlflutes.com "Some thought that the Owl was a bad omen; that if one heard the hoot of an owl at night, it meant death was near."
