I took my boy to the local mcjujitsu dojo I used to go to (I was green belt but it didnt help against a no stripe white at my first bjj class) and one of the myriad of black belts asked me when I was coming back. I told him I had started bjj now and he said "lay on the floor with your legs in the air and I'll kick you in the balls" - I told him to pop down and try a lesson but it never happened. I would not have been suprised at all if a good white would taught him some respect.
A mate of mine once said that he wouldn't lose to a bjj guy because he would be too fast with his footwork and his boxing (all the 2 years of it when he was 11-13) would be too much for me or any other grappler, anyway we eventually get him to a "mma gym" where the instructor lists all his amazing titles and his japanese ju jitsu black belt, when all that matters is he is apparently a jiu jitsu blue belt, but he has grappled a long time by the looks of it. Anyway my mate and i spar standing, he stands unorthodox mayweather style but without the skill and speed, he just kept moving around trying to roll punches when he clearly didn't know how to a couple of leg kicks later he packed the stand-up in then we rolled and i tapped him many times, but i wasn't going rough so that he would want to take up bjj, anyway his ego was so heavily bruised i think he is gonna wait till next summer to recover and start grappling/mma.

We have all had our share of tools come to the gym egos in hand.. but what about the flip side? has anyone had guys turn up and school the team/coach?

theres a lithuanian guy who trains at london shootfighters, who aparantly took one of his mate who was over for a holiday down for a wrestling class and he murdered everyone. only ever came once but we found out later that he was ranked something like 8th in the world in roman greco.Originally Posted by rjd
No specific stories but something that I hate is bullies in gyms, we all know who they are but pricks that come in, act the tough guy, absolutely leather people of less skill and then just bitch out when they come up against someone better. These people are my pet hate in gyms and I make a point of messing these boys up whenever possible (like doing really crappy things that I wouldn't normally do to other people), if they don't come back I don't care, better off without them.
