General badmotherfucker.
If you do learn to squat, here is nice video of how not to do it!

I cannot believe the kid films the bar to show the heavy weights, and then does about a quarter of a squat each time. The last time I saw technique this bad was when Jay Darrell was doing his press-ups in his video!
If full handstands are too hard, move your hands a little farther from the wall and face the wall when you're pushing so that it's like an incline pushup. Over time and when you get stronger, move it closer to the wall. I'd say do a couple of sets to a couple of reps before failure. I don't believe in going to full failure as for me, this seems to place a little too much stress on my body these days.
For your pistol squats if they're too easy put heavy shit (books) in a backpack, try and hold it overhead and do the squats. You'll be surprised at how much it works your core. I used to do it with my sandbag back in the day and it was a real mother fucker.
There's plenty of shit online for bodyweight training. There are real strength testers like planche pushups and flagpoles as well as other static holds that you can practice.
To work maximum strength development though, you really need that 1-6 rep heavy stuff with huge compound exercises like squats, deads, c&j etc.

I'd do this before you need to ask anymore questions. Don't take any advice off anyone who can't bench alot more than their bodyweight for reps or deadlift double their body weight.
Seriously, go to www.ironaddicts.com really all the stickies in the beginner section, the article sections in fact all the sections. Read peoples logs. Here you have got some great advice, good advice, bad advice and stupid advice. There it is heavily modded so only good advice remains
There is more and better info there than anyone on here can give you (including me). Assuming your looking for 'gym' strength.
I think madcow is better than starting strength, but starting strength is more of a popular recent fad. Either is easy to do.
Also if your Gym doesn;t have a barbell and weights. Quit and spend your money on porn instead. You will get more use out it
just cos you run a mobile disco doesnt mean you are qualified either, next thing youll be the " south easts premier Jimmy Saville impersonator" , as far as the ache goes, this is a sign to me my muscles are shredding and growing back bigger, maybe "ache" is the wrong word, and yes i do do 1 body part every time i go to the gym, this works for me.
Pleas. Drinkign Polska milk and liftings more hevy. Each mornin 1 litres Polska milk chagning you farever. You needs only dedlift. Skwat. Bensh press. Pool ups gud also. Polska #1!

Correct, My mobile disco certainly doesn't qualify me and it's a long time before i reach the dizzy heights of Sir Saville, but I appreciate the comparison. If you read most of my posts I advise and point him in the direction of truely qualified people. I'd encourage you both to read lots from suggested sites.
I do not proclaim to be an expert nor a trainer, but i'm very well read on strength training. However I know bad advice when i see it.
In this case. Please bare in mind your audience. I complete beginning and young gentleman. almost every qualified strength coach would suggest a full body compound lifting with a focus on controlled volume and incremental linear weight increases. A minor suggesting upper lower compound split.
A complete body split only allows grow cycles of one week. a 3 day full body allows 3 growth cycles a week. potentially 3 times as quicker progress. Which for a beginner is possible (you must have heard the phease newbie gains). ***This is why starting strength gets amazing results for absolute beginners *** When this stalls then you start to think about slowing the growth cycles. but even then most power lifter log i've seen works the muscle set at least twice a week, albiet sometimes in directly.
For yourself. If you are making progress and adding weight to the bar every week, thats fantastic news and stick to it. Don't fix what isn't broken, but to assume something that is working for you to be the best advice for a complete beginner is naiive.
The ache may feel like a sign of the muscles shredding and growing back stronger, but it's not a realiable sign. Google DOMS for more info, I hope that helps.
Good luck in your training. As always, i'm keen to learn more. I'd love to see your workout if you care to share.
