    It's just a fashion thing... I don't like them myself but why buy a 2 litre car when a 1.2 will get you from A to B just as fast under normal driving conditions and assuming you're keeping to the speed limit?

    The automobile industries effect on the environment is minimal. Televisions, un needed industry in total and increasing electrical need through excessive amounts of gadgetry are far more at blame.

    Yeah but you try doing high mileage motorway driving in a 1.2 litre car, it would be so uncomfortable. A 1.2 litre car is made for shorter distances & town driving IMO.

    I do about 700-800 miles each week & bigger engined cars are way more comfortable for cruising this kind of distance.
