Default Can a person compete independantly?

Is it possible to a perso to just enter a comp and not represent a team and just go at it independantly. If so in theory a mblue belt could just say his a purple belt enter the comp and just make up his own club on the form where it asked what team you part of?

Yeah, obviously you could do this. It's impossible for comp organisers to verify everyone.

On a related issue, what about someone who trains, say, traditional JJ and wanted to enter a comp, would he always be a white belt? Even if he has trained for years and years (at grappling) and is a black belt in trad?
