In most cases I think if one part of the uniform is ill-matched, most vendors will offer to exchange for a size up or down, long as you don't take the p (eg I've had this gi for 3 months and it shrunk too much can I have a bigger size please).

For sizing, I would say ignore the height/weight chart. For more accurate sizing I recommend getting an old gi and using it to find your ideal stats on the following (as a minimum):

    1. wingspan wrist to wrist or at least shoulder to wrist of one arm.
    2. jacket height
    3. jacket width
    4. Trouser outside leg

Just four bits of data that you send to the vendor. Most gi makers should offer a comprehensive size chart,eg Fushida and Storm (see pic)

Most companies have this data, even if it is not on their website (I'm talking about gi makers, not resellers). So if you email them your stats as listed above, you should get a recommended fitting. Whether they do or not, well, that's depends on the level of service.

But...take into account shrinkage rates. Each gi type and company differs slightly in how they perform during washing and drying.

Default Gi Review: Faixa Rua Leve

Full independent and detailed report here: http://meerkat69.blogspot.com/2010/0...-rua-leve.html

    Summary:
A no-frills light weight competition uniform that blends understated style with a contoured fit and rugged ‘on the mat’ toughness. The A1 jacket fitted me superbly but trouser sizing issues necessitated the need to go one size up.

    Some photos:

Bold red shoulder patch, othewise, pretty plain and minimal design.
