Will a new gi always shrink whens it's washed for the first time, no matter how cold the wash is?

Some are terrible for shrinking. A good quality preshunk gi on a 30 degree wash and air dryed may only shink a very small amount if at all.

How much over 6ft? I'm 6ft and about 12 stone and A2 fits me perfectly. I have had an A3 before but I had to shrink it a lot and it didn't end up fitting as well as my A2. I think an A4 would be ridiculous on you.

Think it depends on the type of gi, I'm 5ft 9" 75Kg, I have a manto A2 and although the jacket is a perfect fit, the trousers are a bit short & tight. My Adidas A2 is a totally different cut altogether. My advise would be to narrow which particular gi's your interested in then make enquiries on some forums as to the cut & sizing
