With the 4 man coming up soon im offering any the four guys involved the opportunity to get some quality sparring in with guys from my team.

We have a lot of talent at that weight and around that weight with Scotlands number 1 LW Graham Turner, Danny Gray, Allan McCauley, Keiran Malone Garry Ward also European ranked featherwight John Cullen, Dean Rielly, Darren Grey, as well as myself and Paul and some other guys.

Its not uncommon for gyms to bring sparring partners in for fight camps, so if any you guys (open offer to the 4 of you's) want some quality sparring pm me and il sort something out.

So other guys can get an indepth look at the fighters strong/weak points and share this with other fighters in the tournament?? lol

Yes in the long run the fighters may benefit from the extra sparring and exposure to different fight styles but not so sure this offer will be taken up by all fighters on the eve of such an important 4-man tournament.

Imo 1, or 2 at most, will accept this offer at this point in time.

im pretty sure all the fighters and there camps will be aware of each others strong/weak points, unless any the four of them have secret mystical stuff that no one has seen before.

all through the sfc thread people make reference to the fighter who prepares best will win etc etc

What better preperation can thesee guys get than the chances to spar with guys of this level and expereince.

If no one accepts the offer then so be it, however if there looking to do anythng in the sport at all they should realsie that you wont get any better training in your comfort zone with people you are better than.

I'd be onto this in a shot if it was one of my guys in the tournament. Not gonna get much better preperation than some training/sparring with the best and/or most experienced in Scotland in those weight categories James mentioned.

No brainer for me really. Only thing I could possibly see as a negative is showing your strengths and weaknesses to potential opponents in the future but to be fair they are doing the same in return so cancels out.

Very generous offer IMO. I'm sure all the fighters mentioned that are available for the sparring are more than professional enough to not be taking notes and passing on info etc. No-one from the guys mentioned or their teams is in the 4 man so it's entirely unbiased. Some searching on forums and youtube would let you see most if not all of the guys in the 4 man fighting anyway.

As James said you only ever get better at anything in life by getting outside your comfort zone and pushing yourself. Each of the guys in the tournament will make up their own minds obviously but each of them would be remiss not to at least consider the offer IMO.

That is a very generous offer James! I wish I was in that position!! I'm sure the guy's will all jump at it!

Just shows that Scottish teams do work together!

generous offer, as they are the biggest team in the country, and their club is stacked with F/W & L/W

but james, i bring you up on a point i was intruiged that you made some time ago, regarding fighters from other teams fighting in your gym

surely, infact, id be positive some if not all of the 4 fighters will face guys from your team in the future

id also be pretty suprised if one of the 4 guys in particular took up the offer, although id bet he would jump at it if the circumstances where different.

this could be a great thing for scottish mma, and maybe im looking at it from a different angle.

and does this stop at the 4 man tourny, and if offered, would you take up gestures like this to train in gyms for sparring such as battlefield, hostile territory urban disturbance etc?
