just a good quality whey protein, maybe an MRP if your diet is shit and you cant get quality food.
Eat little but often, try for 5-6 small meals throughout day as opposed to 3 large meals.
But to be honest, if you are just getting started out, sort out the diet and the training then evaluate if you feel the need for supplements.
If not just starting then there are plenty of good supplements out there but dont believe all the hype as most are just a complete waste of cash.

Default muscle building fat loss diet

Alright guys here's a diet for someone serious about their goals and achievements, so modify to own tastes, times etc. Its a simple, effective bodybuilding diet. I have incorporated the use of Whey and MRP's incase you go with using them.
The diet follows the principles that 5-6 small meals are better than the standard 3 large meals per day, which causes the body to store more food as fat.

    PROTEIN
7.30 1 scoop whey protein in water 20g

    8.00 1-2 slice wholemeal bread
1/2 portion of MRP + half scoop of whey 31g
    100ml orange juice

    10.30 1 1/2 scoops whey in water 30g
    2 rice cakes
    1 piece of fruit

    12.30 Tuna (95g) + 1tblsp natural yoghurt 27g
    1/2 small chicken breast (60g) 18g
    1-2 slice of wholemeal bread
    Salad

    15.00 1 1/2 scoops whey in water 30g
    2 rice cakes
    piece of fruit

    18.30 Mackerel (95g) 20g
    1/2 small chicken (60g) 18g
    1 small jacket potato
    or 50g boiled rice
    or 75g boiled pasta
    Veg
    22.00 1 scoop whey in water 20g

This meal plan should give you a steady loss of bodyfat and if training hard help build muscle. The portion sizes are reasonable so should help you feel full and satisfied.
Cardio training is crucial for maximum effect for weightloss. Try to go for 55-60 % max heart rate to work at.

thats a nice diet too mate, u r right as alternatives.
Its a relatively cheap diet as supplements i would use are All in 1 for whey and MRPs as opposed to going with expensive Muscletech etc products
