Default Hard times hits us all

Ok. I am going through some tough times right now. blah blah blah I have to be a fucking rock 24-7 for those around me.

This is a thread for anyone going through hard times. Any tips/tricks, anicdots or jokes that see you through? i'm far from faltering but I am a little fucking tired of pretending it does not matter. It does. I am torn up inside but we all have to continue as it makes us who we are and who we can be. Ride or die. Shaolin talking shit before the whole cycle begins again!

And no I don't want a fucking hug! Lol

Doing lots of MMA works for me... but not really an option if you're working 18 hr days, feel for you... stay strong.

Thanks Dave. Perhaps I need to make it an option somehow. I am a little embarrased about my ramblings and have a big headache lol. If I could train with ease I would and it would help no doubt. Maybe just need to try to commit to days a week where I get time off to go back to MMA or even try traditional BJJ - just money at the mo. Will look around again. Right, back to work lol!

I'm sure he could get in a couple of sessions. Even if it's only once a week it's escape from thinking about worries and stresses of life.

Write a gratitude list every morning and carry it with you throughout the day and read it if you get down. List 10 things you are grateful for. They don't have to be massive either. Remember 2/3 of the planet don't have clean water to drink so compared to them you are well ahead of the game.

    1. You are employed. Not only by 1 but by 2 jobs.
    2. You have a roof over you head.
    3. You have water in the tap
    4. You have food in the cupboards
    5. I am always grateful for my son and other family who love me.
    6. Nice weather
    7. This forum where you can sage like advice.
    8. Your car if you have one.

    Etc etc etc.

When you write it down like this it puts things into perspective and you can see how well off you are.

Some people close to you are sick which sucks but you can be grateful for the time you have had together.

Shame to hear things are rough Shaolin and can't even imagine what the poor families with kids you mention are going through right now

As others have said i really would make time to fit in some exercise even if its only a quick half an hour run or something, when you train REALLY hard you cannot possibly think of anything except what you are doing and it certainly sounds like your mind needs switchin off from this for a short time at least!

How about some home made Tabata training if you can't get out or some interval running??

Hope things pick up for you fella, prayers to the families involved you've mentioned,

    Guys, THANKYOU.

I don't know why I felt I needed to vent but thanks. I do get to train from time to time (Just in the park on monkey bars etc) and when I do I train extremely hard mixing cardio, callestheitcs and some mma related stuff - look like a nutter 2bh.

But travelling to a gym and training MMA are too time consuming and actually when I have done it have left me more annoyed then refreshed. Take this for instance, had not trained at all for 2 years, stepped into a gym explained I was unfit, it was all grappling. I rolled and tapped out this young Brazilian guy with a rolling Kimura - due to him going hard he rolled into the lock and got hurt (not badly but he made a fucking drama), so I followed him around apolagising explaining it was an accident whilst he made a scene. I explained to the instructer it was a mistake. Cool. This guy sits on the side talking and wispering to the instructer whilst I roll a couple more times then decides to roll with me again, as soon as we start and as I touch fists the guy goes as hard as possible trying to rip my arms off - unfortunately for him he could not catch me in anything but he had me in countless difficult spots and it was 100% revenge bullshit, I was knackered he was fresh and it was disrespectful (Call me an old man - I'm 32 but look 24). I left that gym very angry knowing I could not put in the time to step back in and put him to sleep like I wanted to. So I stopped at that gym and for a long time just though about how much I wanted to train hard so I could teach that bitch some manners. Stupid I know...
