from the site, it looks like some kick/boxing guys decided to open up a "MMA" club? however, this place is a few minutes walk from my gf's house, so it would be good to nip in now and again if it's legit.

never heard of them? Wouldnt hurt to pop down and find out for yourself though?
A guy from my work goes there mate, he raves about it!
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
Yes mate I've heard a bit about them.
Think Nigel Tropman is one of the coaches there. JKD blackbelt interestingly enough. If you go there, let me know how it is!
Hiya mate
I notice this thread is pretty old but I've only joined the site today. I train at Battleground and have done since the start of this year. I really enjoy it there and would recommend taking a look if you haven't already. I only train on a purely recreational basis myself but we have a few guys who fight amateur if you're more serious.
One thing I would say about the gym that you picked up on is that it is rather striking-focussed, in that the majority of the sessions are western/thai/kick boxing. The quality of instruction in grappling however is very high imo (and being a recent convert to MMA after 20-odd years of judo I'd like to think I know enough to tell), just wish there was more of it!
Like I say, check it out if you get chance. All the lads there are genuinely really friendly too
