Taking the missus to New York for her 30th
My missus hits the big 30 next year and really wants to go New York for her present. I want to get it booked early to avoid having to pay all of the money upfront. The only problem is every website I look on it costs upwards of £3000 for 7 nights!
Anyone know of any cheaper travel agents or websites that they can recommend??

Why not take her to York instead? There's a Viking museum.
Have you looked at Expedia? What time of year are you going?

Christ £3K? You could probably go round the world for that much.
I assume 3k is for business or 1st class flights?

I think that £3k was hotel AND flights? £3k would just cover First Class flights to NY.
Better deals are available depending on time of year, hotel type etc.

Me and my girlfiend did a week in New york last year for around 800 quid each and that was over the thanksgiving holiday weekend.
I travel a lot and normally use Kayak.com to search for the best flights (Heathrow is normally the cheapest option from UK-NYC). Then I found a really good deal for the hotel through lastminute.com.
I have also had some awesome deals using Asda Travel and TravelSupermarket.com.
