Under 74KG
The under 74kg category was the busiest of the day which meant that the winner would have at least 4 fights before claiming the prize. The action was fast paced but as the tournament progressed the stand-out competitors were two Gareths, Louth and Firm from Stealth JuJitsu and Combat Base respectively. In an action packed final Gareth Firm took the victory.
1. Gareth Firm (Combat Base)
2. Gareth Louth (Stealth JuJitsu)
Under 84KG
Another busy category and a highly competitive one. Jamie Taylor made short work of his opponents as he made his way to the final via a string of submission victories. Sean Durnan and Jason Weiglus had a very close semi-final with Sean edging it on a judges decision and setting up the all Middlesbrough final and an intertesing trip home in the same car with Jamie Taylor.
1. Jamie Taylor (GB Lagarto Redcar / Middlesbrough Fight Academy)
2. Sean Durnan (Middlesbrough Fight Academy)
Over 84KG
Unfortunately due to the weather a number of fighters were unable to attend and the once 12 man tournament became a 4 man league with each competitor fighting each other. After the first 2 rounds Matthew Condon and Stuart Leach both had 2 victories. An injury removed one of the four and it was decided that Matthew and Stuart would fight for the honours. The first four minutes were too close to call so a further minute was needed. Stuart Leach edging the decision.
1. Stuart Leach (Nova Vida)
2. Matthew Condon (Manchester BJJ Academy)
Absolute
With the tournament running smoothly the decision was made to invite fighters for an Absolute (open weight) tournament to finish off the day. 8 competitors took to the mats once more. The guys from Middlesbrough once again setting up showing well as they fought their way through the field and faced each other in the final. Once again it was Jamie Taylor who took the victory.

2. Sean Durnan (Middlesbrough Fight Academy)
