In terms of knowledge and demonstrating the techniques to a good standard, brown / black belt. However, applying the techniques in BJJ tournaments and full on sparring against decent brown and black belts I would fall short and be the grade I am now. Which is not brown.Originally Posted by rjd

Well, I don't know any hip throws so... white belt, lol. Other than that though, I know enough to pass all the other requirements... which just shows how silly syllabus stuff like this is imo.

Judging by that syllabus a brown belt. Funny that cos I'm only a white belt 3 stripes, so hey ho. I think that's just a basic outline of what you should know. I guess to get the belts the instructor will judge how you apply them in sparring.
