"It's a misconception that you get slower by lifting weights," continued his partner in the S&P venture. "I'm not pointing fingers, but people seem to think that if you get a bit stronger, you'll get a bit slower, which just isn't the case.
"A lot of guys will come in, and be fit on the mats, but it's not the same as being fit in the gym. That doesn't mean extra fitness in the gym can't be carried over to the fight though."
