The film you are thinking of is 'The Book of Eli' and it is quite good. Very 'Fallout' though!

Just watched an excellent documentary at the weekend called Dear Zachary: A Letter to A Son About His Father.

Really, really recommend this - it's extremely powerful. Won't go into detail as I don't wanna spoil it.

Pacino and DeNiro have been responsible for some of the greatest films, I'd watch anything with Pacino in and DeNiro before 2000
    Carlitos Way
    Cape Fear
    Taxi Driver
    Raging Bull
    Godfather
    Scent of a Woman

    Blow
    American Pyscho
    The Entity
    Swordfish
    Full Metal Jacket
    Platoon

    For cheese:
No Retreat, No Surrender (the sequel is ridiculous, which makes it good)
Best of the Best (1 and 2 are the best)
    Double Impact
    Out for Justice
    Cobra

I know some are obvious choices!
