Here's what I think scientists should do...

1. Get the gene from that jellyfish that never dies of old age, and stick it in a pig
2. Get the gene from a snake that makes it shed its skin and stick that in the same pig
3. Now you have a pig that sheds it's skin and never dies
4. UNLIMITED BACON

All you'd have there is a self skinning pig which doesnt die of old age.

You'd need the gene of something that could regenerate parts of it's body before you'd have unlimited bacon.
