    Default Guitar Dilema

Hiya all, I have this guitar:

This is not the actual guitar as it's at me mam and dad's but this is the same model.

It is a Kay Les Paul copy with built in effects.

    My debate is whether to

    a) Keep it, set it up and use it for my new band

    b) Sell it and use the money to additionally fund a house deposit

    What ya'all reckon?

How much would you get for it? Would it really make much difference to what you'd be putting towards a house deposit?

I dunno, I have saw prices ranging form 200 up to 500, so potentially yeah it could make a big difference, the houses I am looking at are quite cheap tbh lol, it's Sunderland ffs :P

It has a proper lush sound, which is what is making me debate, I want a different guitar sound for the new band, this has basically very close to that sound from what I remember, a scratty dirty metallic blues sound, and then the effects built in could make it entertaining.

Also it is from the late 70s so I'd quite like to keep it, but I dunno cos we have looked at a lush house today

Q - is it your first guitar?

yes -> Let it gather dust (a guitarist would never forgive himself for selling his first guitar) and buy a Fender Jaguar/Jazzmaster
no -> Sell it and buy a Jaguar or Jazzmaster

Lmao No it isn't my first guitar, that is a Jackson that is gathering dust as we speak

I agree on the jag/jazzmaster thing however that would defeat the object mate

Well it depends on your priorities then. If it's something you use at least once a week, I wouldn't sell it.

KEEP IT!!! A few hundred quid will make little difference when it comes to moving house and doing it up. The extra money will only end up up being spent by your missus on a more expensive sofa or an 'occasional table' (the most pointless thing ever).
