This weekend, international MMA is abound, and for once it’s not in the land of the rising sun, even though part of it comes from Japan! Roxanne Modafferi, “The Happy Warrior”, will be making her 125 lb. debut at Cage Warriors 40 in the HMV Forum in Kentish Town, London, England. She will meet their Super-Flyweight champ, Rosi Sexton, in a non-title fight, which you can watch live and for free on Saturday. The Fight Nerd spoke with Roxy recently to talk about this fight, why she cut weight, and what happened at her Sengoku fight that forced her to pull out minutes before her match.
The Fight Nerd: You are getting ready to battle Rosi Sexton this Friday in the UK at Cage Warriors 40, how has preparation been for this fight?
Roxanne: It’s been good. I’ve been working a lot on my striking with coach Sean Frew, and stand-wrestling with Kiuma Kunioku and the team at the AACC. I’m feeling good.
