After my first class, I ached all over for about 3 days, and for the first couple of weeks, I seemed to pick up bruises and scrapes from basically nothing, but my body adapted to it fairly quickly. It's still very tough of course, but it becomes less of a shock fairly quickly if you're keeping it up, and you should be able to push through that barrier and start to recover quicker.

What makes you think you are too old to start MMA? It's not that uncommon to find people who have taken up MMA in their 40s and the oldest newbie I heard of was in his 70s (although he had a long history in boxing)
