Default Selection of Japan Charity T Shirts

    Japan Charity T Shirts

I would've included the Scramble one but they've sold out, which is good anyway?

If you guys know of any other charity tee's let me know and I'll get them up.

My favourite one is the one at the bottom

Sorry to break the mood but that first t shirt (although designed as a way to raise money for the Japan cause) isnt actually Japanese...

The link to the t shirt says "The tee made from our finest luxury soft-touch jersey cotton features the iconic Japanese symbol for 'Love' ..." but it's actually the word 'Love' in Chinese...

When I saw that it made me cringe a little like when people get 'Jiu Jitsu' tattooed on them in Chinese when it should be in either Japanese or Brazilian...

This is japanese for love right?

Looks pretty much the same to me, just styled a bit differently.

Matt from scramble might know, i'm sure he lived in japan for a few years.

Personally don't know anything about writing kanji, so feel free to tell me if i'm wrong lol

Hm, I don't know any of the translations for Japanese characters, but I had a look on the net and it seems to come up with that symbol as japanese for love. Could be wrong though ofc.

Tbh, anyone who doesn't get it checked by someone who understands the written language takes a risk 0.o

Enson Inoue is on FB doing hands on work in North Japan. He was in Saitama helping out with clothes and food rashions and is taking donations through his purebreed clothing shop

Better to go to his FB page and read the info but the clothes are here:

Really it deserves its own thread

Thanks man, I'll take a look at those links now too.

It's my hope that people who don't usually donate will buy t shirts like these to show support, got a few more to post shortly. One of them will mean a lot to everyone on the forum I imagine.

The Hànzi (Han Characters) was/is used by the Japanese Kanji (Han Characters), Chinese in it's origins, but it has spread to most of the neighbouring countries. After both China and Japan went through a few iterations of simplification of the characters, some differences occurred, some stayed the same.

Love is probably one of the Chinese loanwords, but I don't know if this was just the character or the character and the pronunciation (Mandarin). My Japanese is none existant and my Mandarin is subpar after spending too much time with the gwai lo ;-)
