    Default My Journey

Ive decided to keep track of my fight training progress, this will not be a detailed daily log as i don’t have the time and know that it wont be that interesting to do it that way.........im really doing this so i have accountability for my decision to train to fight!......ill be keeping record of things that i think are relevant and maybe of interest to others.....id appreciate any feedback on any of the info i provide.......im hoping this may help people who are starting out, get an idea of what is needed, it may help or be totally fuken useless haha.....either way its going to happen.....

    my stats
    Age 29
    height 5.6(short ass) ha
    weight 83.6kg
    BF% 18

I have done the weights and boxing training for the past 9 years ( not relevant at all haha)

I am fairly fit, fitter than most of my mates(not saying much) running, cycling, squash, bouldering, football etc......LOL basically no were near fight fit!

I have a horizontal tear in my right knee cartilage (i will be getting key hole surgery in august hopefully) this will not stop me training just keep me from training to hard as it hurts after a while.

cheers in advance for any support......

Had my first Kickboxing class tonight, at my local gym.....taught by Scott Emerson.....anyway i really enjoyed it, the lads were great and made me feel easy straight away (it helped i am friends with one of the lads and have seen the others faces at the gym). I found the workout very hard and loved every minute of it, we did some light sparring at the end, new to me. i kept flinching lol and was on the defence the whole time and the lads took it easy on me....i realise now that to do what i want is going to take a lot of dedication and i have new respect for fighters!......ive decided not to take the mma class i was going to do this week as it was going to be mma and muay thai back to back, im not fit enough so just going for the beginner muay thai lesson.

    cheers.

...sorry, have I signed into the wrong forum? what's with all the support??!

...just fucking with you, mate; read your other posts and, so long as you train consistently, determinedly (I don't even know if that's a real word!) and, most importantly; Smartly, then you could do just fine.

....there are plenty of fighters in their mid to late 30's who are getting into the UFC and other big promotions, and with the Ultimate Fighter; the chances of really making it have never been higher.

....plus, look at this guy; http://bleacherreport.com/articles/4...-world-records he's fucking 70!!!
