Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to Tommy for giving up his time and vast knowledge yesterday. Also a massive thanks to the guys from the Bolton Olympic Wrestling club for allowing us to use their club.
Tommy is a national treasure whose knowledge of old skool Lancashire (Catch) wrestling is limitless.
It was a humbling experience to get twisted up by a man who has 20 years on me.
Guys find this man ( and men like him) and lets keep this art alive, you will find Tommy very very giving with his knowledge.

Agreed, was a great day, cant thank Tommy Heyes enough for his time, the man is a fountain of wrestling knowledge and has an amazing eye for detail! What was also a great help was that even at 72 years old Tommy was more than happy to get down on the mat and wrestle with us! incredible!

Tommy has first hand knowledge from the original snakepit in Wigan and regularly trained with Billy Riley, Billy Robinson and Roy Wood during his time spent there, he also helped continue run the snakepit alongside Roy Wood when billy Riley was no longer able to do so.

He also possesses an incredible amount of historical knowledge on catch wrestling and it was a real pleasure listening to him share stories with us about little known matches that took place at the snakepit.

All in all an incredible experience to train with Tommy, a genuine home grown catch as catch can wrestler! I really cannot wait until the next opportunity.
