    seeing as there is not a judo section i thought id ask in here. in judo can you do any sort of leg takedonwns like in bjj?

    i thought with new rules u cant attack the legs etc single or double leg

    You can attack the legs but it has to be as a counter to your opponents attack I think.

    Nonsense rule IMO.

    Either as a secondary attack or as a counter or if opponent has xguard grip. I was against the rule coming in but it has dramatically improved the ippon rate and leg grabs are still being used. Been really interesting to follow

    Different really. Xguard is where you cross grip to the shoulder/tricep or reach over the back on the wrong side of the head. Whereas a cross grip would be to the far lapel. Hope this clarifies?
