Hi Rob, I can now tell you who isn't running the UK's first and only British Grappling Championships, no one now at this moment in time.

There were 6 of the top UK Event organisers and possibly one of the Top UK Grappling Coach's who were approached and contacted to see if this project could be put together, unfortunately, 5 out of the 7 persons asked could not commit due to their own personal and professional commitments etc, and the work involved by all to get this project of the ground and up and running etc, there are only two people left who are still and possibly able to commit the time and work required to get this Biennial ‘British Grappling Championships’ event of the ground here in the UK, and I am one of them.

I cannot and will not name or mention any other names, but I am still considering my position with regard to this now near enough defunked project, as the other person/colleague who is still willing to commit the time, effort and work required etc, possibly like myself, would still like to see this project come to fruition here in the UK, its just whether I personally feel that only two of us can put this project together, take it forward and make it work etc, so I am still thinking whether or not to commit now due to the current situation etc.

I, like the others asked to be involved, and like my still interested colleague feel the UK need a prestigious ‘British Grappling Championship’ now, especially with the growth of the grappling arts here in the UK, and to find the true and best grapplers, regardless of style or systems etc, here in the UK.

There are many excellent grappling tournaments in the UK now, both Gi and No Gi, but there is not one defining Championships that will define the true best of the best Grapplers in one event here in the UK, and that’s why I feel that a true and the first ‘British Grappling Championships’ could or would be the pinnacle event to decide the very best of the best every two years, both Gi and No Gi.

We had one of the main UK Equipment suppliers very interested in possibly sponsoring the 'British Grappling Championships', whether or not they will still possibly be interested has not yet been confirmed as yet etc.

I personally will be making my final decision in the next couple of weeks once I have spoken again with the other person/colleague who would still like to see this happen, as to whether or not I still wish to be involved now etc.

I will let you know the decision and outcome soon, thanks for your patience Rob, I know you like to keep abreast of important information etc, with regard the UK grappling scene etc.
