I did my first 'proper' Christmas this year. Spent most of it with my missus and her family who do the whole massive tree, presents under there, decorations, massive meals, eating home cooked food all day for like 3 days straight etc and whilst it was all great to get into itI still felt lost in regards to the huge amount of money spent on gadgets and shit.

I'd much rather be able to pay my rent and feed my kids but nowadays you cant say that cos you'll be called a tight bastard or a scrooge when in reality it's just common sense.

If you have kids, great - do it for a few years then slowly taper it off to just spending time with family and enjoying the time off.

It's an American site, one said he got a map of Maryland, another said 'dang' and kids get cars when they are 16 there, well they expect them anyway lol. they would have got the word 'gutted' from watching Brit films and television series which American parents think are dreadful, full of sex and violence lol.....I go on an American martial arts site which has a non martial arts bit where they like running the Brits and MMA down ie MMA is only teaching people to fight it doesn't teach respect or disipline and if it wasn't for us you Brits would be speaking German, that's a favourite.
