As per the thread title....is there the element of over doing this? or not doing enough?

meaning as part of a fight camp lasting 10 - 12 weeks for e.g, Ive read 6 weeks from fight time is advised to remain in peak condition from start and finish, but then again Ive read going through the entire camp training strength and conditioning is good to do aswell....any thoughts?

Hi mate, for me this will depend on where you are at from a preparation point of view to start with. But I would advise against trying to go through 12 weeks of hard training with no lighter weeks. 3:1 rule is a good principle to follow, 3 weeks on, 1 week off. 3 days on, 1 day off. This allows for some recovery after hard training weeks. If you want to read more on this check out a webinar I just did on the subject http://www.brendanchaplin.co.uk/2012-webinars/ and let me know any questions that arise from it.
    Cheers
