    a nice idea, but, unless the promoters are willing to organize the searching of bags etc (a la wembley events), it's still far too easy to get booze into an event. while banning alcohol would help in general, it wouldn't necessarily stop the small crowd of people who feel the need to be pissed off their skulls to enjoy a MMA night.

    I agree with the banning of alcohol. A knob is ten times more likely to start a fight if he's pissed out his nut.Thats just an unfortunate fact, and the less people there are drinking, the less likely they are to start brawling en-masse

    my suggestions would be

    that all alchohol is served in plastic glasses (a bitch to hold but not very good for throwing or as improvised weapons)

    a barrier is erected to keep riff raff out of the vip areas

    oh, some security with balls would be handy. they're great at looking hard on the door when people are filing in but its amazing that when shit kicks off they're nowhere to be seen
