Default "RRP" of hiring BJJ coach?

Hey guys, me & a few friends hire a local thai gym a couple of times per week to do BJJ. We were discussing hiring a BJJ coach either weekly or even fortnightly. As a bunch of white belts, theres alot we could learn from blue & purple belts.

How much per hour would I expect to pay for Blue, Purple etc?
Would there be any other expense involved?

Thanks in advance for all replies!

Where's the nearest club? I suggest you get with your friends and go down to the nearest decent BJJ club.

Ive trained at Griphouse & D-Unit in past, their excellent gyms but due to work/ childcare I cant make their BJJ classes. We have Thai club on a Thursday at 7pm, most of the guys finish between 6-7pm. Its purely out of convenience that we have got together to train, now we'r thinking of getting a BJJ coach in.

As yet we havent approached anyone re: training us, would like an idea of how much it would cost rather than messing people around. IE asking a purple belt to do it then discovering we cant afford it!

I did a similar thing a long time ago. Once there was about 10 guys training regular I got my coach to come up from London and just gave him the money after expenses were paid. Charge £5-7 each for 2 hours. So 10 guys is £50-70 per class minus the cost of the hall.

So if you have enough guys then approach a guy you think will teach well and be reasonable with the cash.

We pay £20 for the hall for 2hrs. We were thinking of either a flat rate, ie £30 for an hour. Or, paying the £20 & instructor gets the rest. We have about 14 guys that train with us. Rotating shifts are a bastard to our numbers at classes though, prob 6-8 per class! Our Sunday spar could supplement Thursday coach fees.

    This sounds political.
